Dancing
and Vocal Harmony on the
Deck of the Battleship New Jersey
Camden, NJ, September 25, 2009

When WVLT's Cruisin' 92.1 DJ Lou Costello invited us to his
Rock & Roll dance on deck of the Battleship New Jersey, we thought it was a change from the normal group harmony venues. The Battleship New
Jersey, America's most decorated battleship, is now a museum on the Camden
(NJ) Waterfront. We enjoyed dancing to the tunes spun by Lou Costello
but most of all, we got to hear
some great vocal harmony.

First up were our friends, the Philly acappella group 5/3
Woodland. They started their set with "Good Old Acappella" and did
everything from "Sixty Minute Man" to "Till Then and "Once In Awhile" to a
catchy acappella version of "Da Do Ron Ron." The members of 5/3 Woodland
are a great bunch of guys and we were happy to see they still sound as great
as ever.

In between sets we had a chance to meet members of the soul
group, Tru. We've been hearing a lot of good things about this group out
of Camden who sings a mix of 60's and 70's soul songs. Tru will soon be
celebrating the the release of their new CD (check
Our Events Calendar for
details). Also visit Tru's website from our
Links Page.

The featured vocal group of the evening was 45 RPM.
They also did a fine job, performing a mix of
material with everything from "Dancing In the Streets" to "Have You Heard,"
"Dance With Me," and "Zing Went The Strings To My Heart."
