The
Sheps Entertain Somerset Run
August 29, 2010

It's not often we can walk half a block from CUH Headquarters
and catch a great acappella vocal group, but that's what happened on Sunday
evening, August 29, 2010. The Sheps brought their unique brand of doo
wop acappella harmony to our home community of Somerset Run, in Somerset, NJ.
In the audience were several singer celebrities, including Bobby Thomas (Vibranaires
& Orioles), Vic Donna (Parakeets, Compliments), Ron Taylor (Del Larks), and
Bill Keith (Blendtones, A Moments Pleasure).
Of course we really weren't surprised that the Sheps were
singing at our Somerset Run clubhouse, since we helped arrange one of our
favorite groups getting the gig in the first place. The Sheps arrived
early, ready to sing, and exceeded all expectations. We've seen the
group many times and they continue to amaze us with their large repertoire.
Each member of the group took turns at lead, showing their talent and
versatility. The Sheps performed songs made famous by everyone from the
Spaniels, Platters, Orioles, Four Fellows, Bop Chords, Five Keys, Harptones
and Valentines to the Prisonaires and Four Vagabonds. They also sang
their own original tune, "It's Destiny".
